Fly the Flag Campaign

On Sunday, September 11th, 2011, I would be proud to see the American flag displayed outside every home, apartment, office and store in the United States.  Let's make it our duty to display an American flag on this tenth anniversary of one of our country's worst tragedies.  We do this to honor those who lost their lives on 9/11, their families, friends and loved ones who continue to endure the pain, and those who today are fighting at home and abroad to preserve our cherished freedoms.

In the days, weeks and months following 9/11, our country was bathed in American flags as citizens mourned the incredible losses and stood should-to-shoulder against terrorism.  Our patriotism pulled us through some tough times and it shouldn't take another attack to galvanize us in solidarity.  Our American flag is the fabric of our country and together we can prevail over terrorism of al kinds.

I'm not sure where this campaign originated, but share it with your family and friends, and fly the American flag of any size on September 11th.  I will.

Oh, For the Love of Glee!

We are not Gleeks, but Tricia and I kinda did a gleeky thing this weekend.  We went to the weekend premiere opening of "Glee 3D Concert Movie."  We were prepared for a crowded theatre, but to our surprise - the theatre was empty.
See how empty the theatre is?
That's Tricia wearing her 3D glasses.

Because we had the whole theatre to ourselves, when Artie sang PYT, we sang along to the na na na na chorus - kinda loud.
Na-na-na, na-na-na-na, na-na-na, na-na-na-na-na!

Mr. Shuster is Tricia's favorite character, "cause he's so clean and has a really great singing voice." My favorite character is Brittany S. Pierce because she is so ditzy.  Her deadpan delivery of the most off the wall lines is like that of a seasoned comedienne.  My favorite Brittany S. Pierce lines, "I think my cat is reading my diary" and "I know the cricket that reads to me at night is totally stealing my jewelry.”

We enjoyed the movie - good music and dance numbers with some touching gleek stories.

Shun Your Orchids and They Will Bloom for Your Attention

Over the years, I've probably had half a dozen orchids.  Each dwindled with obvious disdain for my indulgent care.  I tried something different with my current orchid, Freida - I paid her no mind.  To my surprise and delight, Freida began to show off.

Blooms

The rain is making some happy in my yard:

 This is Herman.

I could not believe my eyes this morning - my orchid is going to pop some blooms!

Isn't she the very most adorable flower?
